Subclass 491: Australia New Regional Visas with PR Pathways

Two new regional visas (Subclass 491 & 494) Will be started on 16th November 2019. These visas will get you a permanent residence in Australia by the end of the three years. These visas are valid to regional Australia and everywhere except for Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and Perth.

Subclass 491 substitutes the present Skilled Regional subclass visa 489 (Provisional visa), and it will be closed on 15 November 2019. 

Valuable information about Subclass 491 are:

• It needs to be nominated from the state government or sponsored by a family member who is already living in a selected regional area.
• This will be a point-based visa.
• It will have an allocation of 14,000 positions per year.
• Your age needs to be below 45 years.
• Visas will be granted for an initial five years.
• You cannot apply for any other visa for a minimum of three years.
• You can move between regions.
